 | A subwoofer produces low frequencies that extends the bass of a full-range speaker system. There are two kinds of subwoofers, active and passive. Passive speakers use speaker cable. Active Subwoofers are connected to the amp with a interconnect. Low Frequencies travel differently from midrange and high frequencies so just any interconnect won't necessarily give you the best bass possible.
